North Sea Penguins FPSO installation completed

Sevan SSP says the circular FPSO for Shell UK’s Penguins field redevelopment in the northern North Sea was installed at the field location late last month, in 165 m water depth.

Sevan SSP says the circular FPSO for Shell UK’s Penguins field redevelopment in the northern North Sea was installed at the field location late last month, in 165 m water depth.

Throughout the project, Sevan SSP has assisted with the preparations and execution of the transport and installation.

The Sevan 400 design platform has a processing capacity of 45,000 bbl/d and a storage capacity of 400,000 bbl. Fluor contracted the FPSO, which was built in China, followed by completion and commissioning at Aibel’s yard in Haugesund, Norway.

Shell operates Penguins under a 50:50 partnership with NEO Energy.
