Vår Energi is on track to increase its production offshore Norway to about 400,000 boe/d by the end of 2025, according to the company’s latest results update.
Landmarks so far this year include recent startups of the Eldfisk North and Kristin South projects, in which the company is a partner. Johan Castberg, operated by Equinor, is set to start producing in the fourth quarter.
At Vår Energi’s Balder X redevelopment in the North Sea, the FPSO is nearing completion with modifications made to improve the flexibility to install the vessel on the field. At the end of August, the partners will decide whether to start installation before the winter weather period.
Following the company’s Cerisa discovery in the Gjøa area, gross recoverable resources from this and other nearby finds now total up to 110 MMboe, with potential for a tieback to the Gjøa platform.
The company also continues to streamline its offshore portfolio, having arranged sales of its interests in Norne and Bøyla.
