LONDON – Serica Energy has completed a farm-in to the Greater Buchan Area (GBA) licenses in the UK North Sea, acquired from Jersey Oil & Gas (JOG).
The transaction gives Serica with the option of participating in the re-development of the Buchan field (formally re-named Buchan Horst) and other potential new projects in the GBA, such as development of the offshore J2 and Verbier discoveries.
Subject to project sanction and regulatory approval, the partners are targeting first production from Buchan in Q4 2026.
The GBA extends across licenses P2498 ('Buchan') and P2170 ('Verbier'). NEO Energy operates with a 50% interest, alongside Serica Energy (30%) and JOG (20%).
