ABERDEEN, UK – Well-Safe Solutions has signed an agreement with Spirit Energy to add a well from the Appleton Field in the UK central North Sea to the existing plug and abandonment (P&A) scope of the semisub Well-Safe Defender.
This project will add about one month of work to the backlog of the rig, which mobilized in March to P&A 14 wells for Spirit Energy.
It previously decommissioned wells in the Chestnut and Trees fields, with the latter still ongoing. Amoco and Amerada Hess discovered Appleton in 1997, 160 miles east of Dundee.
