ABERDEEN, UK – Operational issues occurred earlier this year at the Captain Field complex and FPF-1 floating platform in the UK central North Sea, according to Ithaca Energy’s latest results statement.

The FPF-1 was partly offline for about a month due to a damaged heat exchanger, with operations resuming in March following remedial action.

Offshore construction activities continued for the Captain Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Phase II project, with B28 well construction mechanically complete (the well is being converted from a water injector to a polymer injector).

First Phase II polymer production should begin next year and peak in 2025, building on the strong results from EOR Phase I, the company said.

In April the FEED started for potential electrification of the Captain Field, following the completion of pre-FEED studies in the first quarter, which confirmed the viability of the concept.

Next month Ithaca plans to start exploration drilling on the K2 Field and appraisal drilling at Leverett, a potential tie-in to the Britannia field complex.
