LONDONSerica Energy has contracted a rig to drill the potentially high-impact North Eigg exploration well next summer.

North Eigg is a gas prospect close to the company’s Bruce area fields in the UK northern North Sea: a commercial discovery will likely be tied back to the existing infrastructure.

In addition, the company plans a well intervention campaign in 2022 to improve production from various Bruce and Keith wells over the next few years.

Recently Serica brought onstream the Columbus field in the UK central North Sea, and the commingled Columbus/Arran field production streams are now being exported to the Shearwater platform for processing and delivery to the gas and liquid sales points.

However, production has been constrained due to a temporary unavailability of full capacity in the export system, but this issue should be resolved by mid-January.
