Ithaca acquires Marubeni’s UK North Sea subsidiary

Ithaca Energy has issued an update on recent developments affecting the company’s projects in the UK central North Sea.

ABERDEEN, UK – Ithaca Energy has issued an update on recent developments affecting the company’s projects in the UK central North Sea.
In September the company agreed to acquire an additional 13.3% interest in the Alba field from Mitsui E&P UK, lifting its share of the field to 36.7%.
Earlier this month it agreed to acquire 100% of the share capital of Marubeni Oil & Gas UK for $140 million.
Drilling continued on the Ithaca-operated Fotla oil discovery with two appraisal side tracks, using the Awilco semisubmersible WilPhoenix.
In August the jackup Valaris 120 drilled an exploration well on the Harbour Energy-operated Jade South prospect.
Earlier, Heerema’s crane vessel Thialf completed removal of the Jacky platform topsides and jacket structure, which included a central column and suction pile foundation.
