LONDON – Jersey Oil and Gas (JOG) has provided an update on its farm-out discussions for the proposed Greater Buchan Area (GBA) development in the UK central North Sea.
The company is in talks with multiple parties on both of its preferred and alternative concepts connected to third-party infrastructure in the area.
It has received expressions of interest from major infrastructure operators concerning funding of the proposed electrification of the GBA development and a regional electrical collaboration in the Outer Moray Firth, with potential for an integrated solution drawing on power from planned offshore wind projects.
This follows the recent announcement from Crown Estate Scotland of a proposed leasing process that could lead to supply of low-carbon electricity to power oil and gas installations in the North Sea.
In addition, the company has discussed a collaboration with owners of other oil discoveries close to the GBA that could lead to a wider joint development program.
