OSLO, Norway – Repsol has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority for removal and disposal of the Gyda platform in the southern Norwegian North Sea.
The Gyda field, in a water depth of 66 m (216 ft), was developed with a combined drilling, accommodation and processing platform with a steel jacket.
Production started in 1990 and finished in 2020, with P&A of the wells currently in progress.
According to the formal removal resolution, decommissioning must be completed by the end of 2023.
