OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has approved Lundin Energy Norway’s request to dispose of subsea facilities on the Brynhild field in the North Sea.
Lundin developed Brynhild via a tieback to the FPSO Haewene Brim on the Shell-operated Pierce field in UK waters.
In addition, the PSA has authorized Equinor to use the jackup Maersk Intrepid for production drilling and completion of wells 30/4-A-11 and 30/4-A-16 at the Martin Linge field in North Sea license 043.
The rig has been at the field location since the fall of 2018, but serving as a floatel.
Aker BP also has consent from the PSA to use the semisubmersible Deepsea Nordkapp for drilling a shallow gas pilot hole in block 2/4 in the southern Norwegian North Sea.
This is connected to preparation of the development plan for the 2012 HP/HT King Lear gas-condensate discovery in 70 m (230 ft) water depth, 20 km (12 mi) north of the Ekofisk field.
