OSLO, Norway – Equinor must address various regulatory breaches identified by the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) at the Grane field in the North Sea.

This follows the PSA’s audit, completed in mid-June, of Equinor and well service contractor Archer’s management of working environment risk at Grane.

The purpose of the audit was to verify that employees were not exposed to health hazards and the risk of absence due to sickness.

Aside from deficient working environment risk control, the PSA’s team identified non-conformities concerning management of the risk of musculoskeletal disorders; management of the physical and chemical working environment; manning and competence; and training of the safety delegates.

Equinor has been ordered to review its management system and practices for working environment follow-up, ensuring that potential working environment risks are identified in a systematic manner, and to undertake various other actions.

In addition, the company must conduct a comprehensive review of working environment conditions at Grane. Deadline for complying with the report is Feb. 26, 2021.
