TRONDHEIM, Norway – OKEA has secured approval from Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy to become operator of two licenses in the North Sea containing the Aurora gas discovery.
In July the company signed a sales and purchase agreement with Equinor covering the latter’s 40% operated interest in PLs 195 and 195 B.
OKEA plans a low-cost tieback of Aurora, which it believes holds reserves of up to 28 MMboe, to the Neptune Energy-operated Gjøa production platform.
