ABU DHABI, UAE – ADNOC Offshore has awarded National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) a $548 million (AED2.01 billion) EPC contract to build a new main gas line at the Lower Zakum field offshore Abu Dhabi.
This will raise the field’s associated gas production capacity from 430 MMcf/d to 700 MMcf/d, as its oil production capacity also rises to 450,000 b/d by 2025.
The project supports ADNOC’s plans to make the UAE self-sufficient in gas, while at the same time responding to increased global energy demand.
A new subsea pipeline will run 85 km from the Zakum West Super Complex to Das Island. NPCC’s contract includes provisions to construct, install and test a new platform at the super complex and a new gas reception facility at Das Island.
