RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — Petrobras has issued a statement about the divestment process for the Albacora Field in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.
The company has confirmed Albacora is part of its portfolio of assets offered for sale, as disclosed in its Strategic Plan 2022-2026.
And further to a "teaser" announced in September 2020, Albacora has a revitalization project that could substantially increase its production, in addition to an extensive development plan.
Petrobras has been conducting tests in the Forno presalt formation, having discovered further non-producing reservoirs and identified new exploratory leads.
Earlier this year the company agreed to sell its operated stake in the Albacora Leste Field to PetroRio, and the two are said to have held further talks concerning Albacora.
