THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Excelerate Energy has concluded negotiations with Petrobras for the tender process concerning the lease of the Bahia regasification terminal.
Once financial and legal qualification/certification stages have finished and all regulatory approvals are secured, Excelerate will deploy one of its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) vessels at the terminal to import LNG and sell regasified natural gas to its Brazilian customers.
Steven Kobos, president and CEO, said: “We understand that increasing access to flexible LNG supply is critical to stabilizing Brazil’s energy system, especially during adverse weather events such as the current severe drought.”
