LONDON – Rockhopper Exploration plc has confirmed that Navitas Petroleum remains committed to its proposed farm-in to the Sea Lion oil and gas project in the offshore North Falkland basin.
This follows the recent announcement of the proposed merger between Sea Lion operator Premier Oil and Chrysaor Holding.
To complete the merger – and for the new management of the combined entity to take a firm decision on the project – Premier and Navitas have agreed to extend the exclusivity period for the farm-in agreement.
Discussions also continue with the Falkland Islands government on a potential extension to licenses PL004 and PL032, both currently set to expire next May.
