CALGARY, Canada – Cenovus Energy says concrete pouring has been completed on the conical slip for the new platform for its West White Rose project offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.

Elsewhere in the region, the company brought forward a planned turnaround at the SeaRose FPSO that had been scheduled for the fall, into the first and second quarters. Light crude produced from the White Rose Field is offloaded from the FPSO to tankers and stored at an onshore terminal before shipment to buyers.

The Suncor-operated Terra Nova FPSO remains dockside in Newfoundland and Labrador as maintenance continues for the vessel’s life extension program. Suncor is aiming for the vessel to depart the Bull Arm fabrication site for the Terra Nova oil field potentially by Aug. 3.

Offshore China Cenovus’ production was recently impacted by an unplanned outage caused by an unauthorized vessel striking an umbilical after entering a dedicated pipeline corridor.
