ABERDEEN, UK — Beach Energy and Mitsui E&P Australia have contracted Wood to provide solutions to help them achieve emissions reduction targets from their fields offshore and onshore Australia and New Zealand.
The main aim is to comply with Australia’s National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act, which is driving a reduction in emissions baselines by 4.9% annually prior to 2030.
Wood said it would implement innovations in maintenance, operations and brownfield engineering, with programs to improve operations and plant reliability while optimizing energy use and electrification.
The targeted outcome is a portfolio of projects to achieve defined emissions reductions over the next seven years. Wood previously applied its proprietary decarbonization methodology SCORE for other companies leading to road maps that are said to enable 15-20% reductions in Scope 1 and 2 CO2e emissions.
