Melbana builds Beehive acreage position offshore northern Australia

MELBOURNE, Australia – Melbana Energy has secured two petroleum exploration permits offshore northern Australia under the Australian government’s 2019 Offshore Petroleum Exploration Acreage Release.

Permits WA-544-P and NT/P87, both of which run for an initial six years, are adjacent to the company’s WA-488-P permit area that contains the undrilled Beehive prospect.

Work requirements include reprocessing of existing 2D seismic and acquisition of new 3D data, and an exploration well on each of the concessions.
