MELBOURNE, Australia – The National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator has granted a 12-month suspension of work program conditions for the WA-488-P permit offshore Western Australia.
Operator Melbana Energy now has until Dec. 21, 2021 to drill an exploration well in the concession on the Beehive prospect.
Various parties have entered confidentiality agreements to receive a detailed presentation on Beehive prospect and to access studies to date. They are currently conducting their own analyses with support from Melbana’s technical team.
Beehive is a Carboniferous-age carbonate build up prospect with 400 m (1,312 ft) of mapped vertical relief. The prospect, in 40 m (131 ft) of water, is close to existing offshore infrastructure: Â independent analysis has suggested potential resources ranging from 388 MMboe to 1.6 Bboe.
