Mubadala achieves second large discovery offshore Sumatra

LONDON — Mubadala Energy has made a “significant” discovery in the Tangkulo prospect in the South Andaman license offshore North Sumatra, Indonesia, according to partner Harbour Energy.

This follows the 6 Tcf-plus deepwater Layaran-1 discovery on the same license last December.

Next, the rig will drill an appraisal well on Layaran, concluding the current campaign.

Harbour holds 20% in the South Andaman licence.
