Energean assesses Olympus gas development options offshore Israel

Energean has confirmed a commercial gas discovery from its Zeus exploration well in Block 12 offshore Israel.

ATHENS, Greece—Energean has confirmed a commercial gas discovery from its Zeus exploration well in Block 12 offshore Israel.
Early estimates suggest 13.3 Bcm recoverable, and post-well analysis is underway on data collected during drilling.
It follows the earlier Athena discovery, where reserve auditor DeGolyer & MacNaughton has certified contingent resources of 11.75 Bcm.
Following these two results, Energean is progressing options for a field development for the surrounding Olympus area, which would tie into the company’s new and existing infrastructure in the region.
The Stena IceMax drillship has transferred to Block 23 to drill the Hercules Miocene gas prospect.
