Petronas exiting Yetagun gas project offshore Myanmar

Petronas Carigali Myanmar and PC Myanmar have decided to withdraw from blocks M12, M13 and M14 containing the Yetagun gas field.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Petronas Carigali Myanmar and PC Myanmar (PCML) have decided to withdraw from blocks M12, M13 and M14 containing the Yetagun gas field offshore Myanmar.

According to parent company Petronas, the decision followed a techno-commercial review in alignment with Petronas’ changing global priorities.

PCML had operated the Yetagun Gas Project since 2003 with a 40.9% interest. The other partners are Myanma Oil & Gas Enterprise (20.5%), Nippon Oil Exploration (19.3%) and PTTEP International (19.3%).
