CNOOC starts up Weizhou 12-8E offshore China

CNOOC has started production from the Weizhou 12-8E oilfield development in the South China Sea.

HONG KONG – CNOOC has started production from the Weizhou 12-8E oilfield development in the South China Sea. The field is located in the Beibu Gulf in an average water depth of 30 m.

In total, CNOOC plans to drill six oil producer wells and one produced water reinjector, all connected to processing facilities serving the Weixinan oilfields. At peak, Weizhou 12-8E should produce 10,000 b/d.

CNOOC has a 51% interest. Its partners are Roc Oil (China) Company, Horizon Oil (Beibu) and Oil Australia.
