ABERDEEN, UK -- BEL Valves and Hima-Sella are teaming up to provide a complete high integrity pressure protection system (HIPPS).
At Offshore Europe, the two companies announced that they would pool their expertise in high integrity valve manufacturing and systems integration to offer customized solutions.
HIPPS is a safety instrumented systen designed to shut-off the source of high pressure before a system's design pressure is exceeded. This provides simultaneous protection against over-pressure situations and loss of containment.
The companies' claim that their combined HIPPS loop, including the sensors, logic solver, and final elements under control, complies with the requirements Safety Integrity Level 3 and the IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards.
