Nexen awards Lamprell Golden Eagle decks

Nexen Petroleum has contracted Lamprell to build two decks for the newly sanctioned Golden Eagle development in the UK central North Sea.

SHARJAH, UAENexen Petroleum has contracted Lamprell to build two decks for the newly sanctioned Golden Eagle development in the UK central North Sea.

The total contract value is over $200 million.

Lamprell’s Jebel Ali facility will construct both structures. One will be a two-level wellhead deck measuring 50 x 50 m (164 x 164 ft) and weighing 4,000 metric tons (4,409 tons). It is scheduled for completion in Q2 2013.

The other will be a three-level production, utilities and quarters deck measuring 85 x 40 m (279 x 131 ft), weighing 10,000 Mt (11,023 t), and scheduled for completion in Q2 2014.
