HONG KONG — CNOOC and its subsidiaries have signed petroleum exploration and production concession contracts covering five blocks offshore Mozambique.
The Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mozambique (MIREME) and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) ratified the awards for blocks S6-A, S6-B, A6-D, A6-E and A6-G.
They cover a total area of about 29,000 sq km in water depths ranging from 500 m to 2,500 m.
The initial exploration period in all cases runs for four years. The CNOOC subsidiaries will act as operators in the exploration and development phases, in partnership with ENH.
