TORONTO, Canada – Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas says that the partners in Block 3B/4B off South Africa, led by operator Africa Oil, are applying for environmental authorization to conduct exploration activities.
The concession is 180 km offshore in the Orange basin off South Africa’s Northern Cape/South-West coast, with average water depths of around 1,000 m.
Environmental Impact Management Services (EIMS) is applying on their behalf for a permit to drill one well and one contingent well, and potentially up to five wells, over an area in the north of block. EIMS will perform the required environmental impact assessment.
Other partners are Eco Atlantic subsidiary Azinam and Ricocure (Proprietary). A collaborative process is also under way to farm out up to 55% of the block to interested parties.
