Chevron signs 20-year extension to offshore Angola block

Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. has signed an agreement that extends the block 0 concession offshore northern Angola by 20 years until 2050.

LUANDA, Angola – Chevron subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. (CABGOC) has signed an agreement in Houston that extends the block 0 concession offshore Cabinda, northern Angola, by 20 years until 2050.

CABGOC will remain operator with a 39.2% stake, in partnership with Sonangol, E.P. (41%); TotalEnergies (10%); and Eni Angola (9.8%).

Angola’s Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, José Barros and acting President of ANPG, Belarmino Chitangueleca, attended the ceremony.

In addition to block 0, CABGOC operates the PSC for deepwater block 14 to the west. Last year, the company’s net daily average production was 89,000 bbl of oil and 340 MMcf of natural gas.
