Trident starts three-well campaign offshore Equatorial Guinea

OSLO, Norway – Panoro Energy has issued an update on its project activities offshore western and southern Africa.

Last month Trident Energy, operator of the Ceiba and Okume fields off Equatorial Guinea (Panoro 14.25%), initiated a three-well development drilling campaign by spudding the Elon-C well. These are the first new wells on the fields since 2015.

At Dussafu Marin off Gabon (Panoro 17.5%), the DTM-7H production well on the Tortue field has reached TD in the Gamba reservoir, having encountered oil-bearing sands in line with prognosis. Completion operations are under way. The Hibiscus North exploration well should follow later in the current quarter.

For block 2 B offshore South Africa (Panoro 12.5%) rig contract discussions continue with a view to spudding the Gazania exploration well by year-end.

Finally, Panoro is progressing the sale of its interest in OML 113 off Nigeria, containing the Aje field to PetroNor E&P. They have agreed to extend the long stop date to Sept. 30 to allow additional time for statutory approvals to complete.
