Qatar Petroleum expands license position offshore Namibia

Qatar Petroleum has agreed to join operator Shell in two exploration blocks offshore Namibia.

DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Petroleum (QP) has agreed to join operator Shell in two exploration blocks offshore Namibia.
Subject to approvals, QP and Shell 45% will each hold 45% interests in the PEL 39 license for blocks 2913A and 2914B, with Namibian state oil company owning the remaining 10%.
The license covers 12,300 sq km (4,749 sq mi): both blocks are in water depths of up to 2,500 m (8,202 ft).
QP first took a license position offshore Namibia in August 2019 by entering blocks 2913B and 2912.
