The development will lift current production to 60,000 bbl/d of oil and 70 MMcf/d of associated gas.

Eni has started up the Phase 2 production from the deepwater Baleine field offshore Côte d'Ivoire, according to a Dec. 28 company press release.

The development will lift current production to 60,000 bbl/d of oil and 70 MMcf/d of associated gas.

Altera/Drydocks World refurbished an FPSO and an FSO for the development, with the FPSO renamed Petrojarl and the FSO Yamoussoukro; both had previously served fields in the North Sea.

Oil from Baleine is now exported from the Yamoussoukro, with 100% of the gas exported via a connection with the pipeline constructed during Phase 1.

Eni and partner Petroci are now working on plans for a Phase 3 development that could lift production to 150,000 bbl/d of oil and 200 MMcf/d of associated gas.
