China clinches long-term LNG supply with Qatargas

DOHA, QatarQatargas has negotiated a 22-year sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with PetroChina International Co. to supply China with around 3.4 MM tons/yr of LNG from the Qatargas 2 project.

This is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total, converting produced gas from the offshore North field.

The SPA provides flexibility in delivering LNG to various points across China, including the Dalian, Jiangsu, Tangshan and Shenzhen LNG receiving terminals, using Qatargas’ fleet of 70 conventional, Q-Flex and Q-Max LNG vessels.
