Petrobras has produced first oil and gas from the Lula Sul area in the presalt Santos basin offshore Brazil.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras has produced first oil and gas from the Lula Sul area in the presalt Santos basin offshore Brazil.
The producing FPSOP-66, the seventh on the Lula field, is stationed around 290 km (180 mi) from the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, in a water depth of 2,150 m (7,054 ft).
It has the capacity to process 150,000 b/d of oil and to compress 6 MMcm/d of gas and was initially connected to the Lula field via the 7-LL-60D production well.
Lula Sul is also Petrobras’ first new field center to start production this year.
The Lula field is in the BM-S-11 concession. Other partners are Shell subsidiary BG E&P Brasil and Petrogal Brasil.
