ABERDEEN, UK --Production has started two months ahead of schedule from Talisman Energy's Duart field in the UK North Sea.
Duart was discovered in 1988 in block 14/20b, 5 mi (8 km) west of the Tartan platform, and has been developed as a single-well tieback to this structure. Its oil will be exported with other Tartan area production via the Flotta system.
Initial flow rates should exceed 6,000 b/d.
Talisman operates the field with a 50% interest, with the remainder held by Nexen Petroleum UK.
