ABERDEEN, UK --ConocoPhillips has produced first gas from its Kelvin field development in the UK southern North Sea, two weeks ahead of schedule.
Kelvin is in blocks 44/18b and 44/23b, and has been tied back to the Murdoch platform via a 12-in. (30.5 cm), 13-km (8.1 mi) pipeline. Gas is exported through the Caister Murdoch transportation trunkline to Theddlethorpe on the English east coast.
ConocoPhillips expects peak output from the well of 135MMcf/d.
