Statoil starts flow at Vega

As predicted last month, Statoil has started production from the Vega gas and condensate field off western Norway.

STAVANGER, Norway – As predicted last month, Statoil has started production from the Vega gas and condensate field off western Norway. Vega has three subsea templates sending gas and condensate to the Gjøa platform.

The project finished on time and budget. Vega development cost NOK 7.6 billion ($1.2 billion). At production, the Vega field will deliver 7 MMcm/d (247 MMcf/d) of gas and 3,900 cm/d (24.5 MMb/d) of condensate.
