ABERDEEN, UK – OIE Services has won a contract to support construction of a new platform for Apache’s Forties complex in the UK central North Sea.
Offshore Group Newcastle (OGN Group) is building the facility at its yard in Wallsend, northeast England.
The 19-slot platform will be bridge-linked to the existing Forties Alpha installation. It will also expand critical utility services to the Forties field, including power generation, produced fluid processing, high-pressure gas compression for artificial lift, and dehydration.
OIE will have responsibility for the maintenance build-of the platform, focusing on safety, environmental impact, and production.
Construction should be complete by mid-year, after which the platform will be towed to Forties for installation. First oil is scheduled for this fall.
