LONDON  Tullow Oil expects to produce first oil shortly from its deepwater Jubilee South East (JSE) project offshore Ghana.

The three JSE producers and one water injector, all due to come onstream this year, should help sustain gross production at the Jubilee FPSO at more than 100,000 bbl/d.

Over the next few years, the partners aim to maintain this increased level of production through periodic infill drilling. They have identified future drilling locations for this purpose.

At the nearby TEN field center, a planned shutdown is underway, designed to improve gas handling and reduce flaring from the FPSO. Tullow is now finalizing an amended TEN plan of development following discussions with Ghana’s government.

Production efficiency at both FPSOs averaged 97% uptime during the first half of this year.

Talks also continue with the government on commercial terms for a long-term gas sales agreement for TEN that could net Tullow revenue from an additional 150 Bcf to 200 Bcf of gas reserves.
