SANDNES, Norway — Vår Energi has proven more oil in the PL 229 (Goliat) license in the Barents Sea, northwest of Hammerfest offshore northern Norway.
The 7122/8-1S Countach well in PL229 (Goliat), currently at 2,958 m MD, has encountered oil in the Realgrunnen and Kobbe formations.
The company and partner Equinor have sanctioned a sidetrack to help define the size of the discovery, with data collection also underway.
