Kikeh FPSO nets long-term extension offshore Malaysia

PTTEP has awarded Malaysian Deepwater Floating Terminal a six-year contract extension for the FPSO Kikeh.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia PTTEP has awarded Malaysian Deepwater Floating Terminal (Kikeh) Ltd. (MDFT) a six-year contract extension for the FPSO Kikeh.

MDFT is a joint venture company between MISC Berhad and SBM Holdings Inc. S.A.

The charter contract now runs to January 2028.

The FPSO operates at the deepwater Kikeh oil field in block K offshore Sabah, Malaysia.

Built in 2007, the FPSO Kikeh is the first and largest deepwater FPSO in Malaysia and Asia, according to MISC. It has a production capacity of 120,000 b/d of oil and a storage capacity of 2 MMbbl.

PTTEP replaced Murphy Oil as operator in 2019.
