OSLO, Norway Golar LNG, Perenco, and state oil company Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH) have agreed on a capacity usage increase for the FLNG Hilli Episeyo.

Starting next year this will increase by 200,000 tons of LNG, bringing total usage in 2022 to 1.4 MM tons. The vessel, the world’s first to be converted for floating LNG, is moored 2 km (1.2 mi) from Perenco’s Sanaga 1 platform offshore Cameroon, and receives gas from the Sanaga and Ebomé gas fields.

In addition, Perenco and SNH plan to drill and appraise two or three incremental gas wells this year, subsequently upgrading the upstream facilities in 2022 to support further increases in production from 2023 onward.

Under the agreement, Perenco and SNH have an option to increase capacity usage at the Hilli Episeyo by up to 400,000 tons of LNG/yr from January 2023 through to the end of the current contract term in 2026.

This could potentially raise total annual LNG production from the vessel to 1.6 MM tons from January 2023 onwards.
