TRONDHEIM, NorwayOKEA has resumed production from the Draugen field in the Norwegian Sea following a four-week turnaround.

The program, which started on June 23, finished two days ahead of schedule, with start-up coinciding with an agreed tanker oil offloading operation.

During the campaign up to 169 people were onboard the Draugen platform, with 89 on dayshift and 80 on nightshift – all following COVID-19 measures.

The work included replacement of corroded piping and valves in hydrocarbon services; preparations for the Draugen gas import and long-term power project; change out of the subsea control system; inspection of corroded x-mas trees; installation of x-line for G-cyclones, reducing deferment when cleaning other hydro cyclones; inspection of heat exchangers, vessels, and the flare system; and re-certification of 167 relief valves.

Tor Bjerkestrand, senior vice president Operations at OKEA, said: “Large parts of the offshore organization have been onboard for a three-week period.

“Some have started the work period one week ahead of normal schedule, some have extended their work period after normal work schedule, adjusting their summer vacation to meet the turnarounds needs.”

Companies participating in the program included Vestbase, SODEXO, Aker Solutions, Linjebygg, Halaas & Mohn, OssNor, IKM Testing, Maintech, ABB, Aker Inspections, Karsten Moholt, and TESS.
