HONG KONG – CNOOC achieved record production last year of 506.5 MMboe, with numerous projects starting up ahead of schedule.
During 2019 the company drilled 23 commercial discoveries and successfully appraised 30 oil and gas-bearing structures.
One of the highlights was the appraisal of the Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas fields offshore China, with newly proved in-place volumes of close to 200 MMboe.
Other notable wells were the five discoveries on the Stabroek block off Guyana, with total recoverable resources of more than 8 Bboe.
At the end of 2019, CNOOC’s net proved reserves exceeded 5 Bboe.
