Allseas’ Lorelay vessel has completed a 10-day platform-to-platform pipeline installation offshore southeastern Trinidad.
The 22-km, 16-inch concrete coated multiphase line connects a newly installed platform to existing offshore infrastructure. Lorelay began the program in December, with the crew placing 139 mattresses to cross and protect existing subsea pipelines.
A first for Allseas was the deployment of the "bowstring" startup technique, connecting the pipeline startup head directly to the platform jacket leg.
Lorelay has since departed for Rotterdam to undergo a lifetime extension and to prepare for upcoming assignments such as laying of the Porthos carbon capture pipeline in the Dutch North Sea.
