MILAN, Italy  GASCADE Gastransport has contracted Saipem for pipelay for the Ostsee Anbindungsleitung gas project in the Pomeranian Bay, northeastern Germany.

Saipem will transport and install a 50-km, 48-inch gas line from the Lubmin site on the Baltic Sea coast to the Mukran port, along the east coast of Rügen island.

The company also has responsibility for construction of landfalls and will deploy the pipelay barge Castoro 10 for the project.

Ostsee Anbindungsleitung is due to be commissioned in early 2024.
