Trinidad and Tobago extend bidding round deadline

The government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago has extended the deadline for its bidding round to May 30, 2006.

(West Indies) - The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries has extended the deadline for its competitive bid round for E&P production rights for 11 blocks.

Eight blocks are located in the Combined Southern Basin land acreage and South Coast Marine Area, and three are located in the Shallow Marine Acreage off the north and east coasts of Trinidad

Water depths range from 25 to 130 m.

The areas include:

Combined onshore/nearshore

Guayaguayare, shallow horizon block comprising an area of approximately 1,126 sq km with the shallow horizon exploration rights extending to 1,525 m (5,000 ft).

Guayaguayare, deep horizon block comprising an area of approximately 1,193 sq km with the deep horizon exploration rights starting at 1,525 m (5,000 ft).

Southwest Peninsula, shallow horizon block comprising an area of approximately 538 sq km with the shallow horizon exploration rights extending to 3,200 m (10,500 ft) and 4,572 m (15,000 ft) for prescribed areas around committed wells.

Southwest Peninsula, deep horizon block comprising an area of approximately 917 sq km with the deep horizon exploration rights starting at 3,200 m (10,500 ft) and 4,572 m (15,000 ft) for prescribed areas around committed wells.

Herrera, shallow horizon block comprising an area of approximately 241 sq km with the shallow horizon exploration rights extending to 3,962 m (13,000 ft) in the northern area of the block and 2,286 metres (7,500 ft) in the southern area of the block.

Herrera, deep horizon block block comprising an area of approximately 712 sq km with the deep horizon exploration rights starting at 3,962 m (13,000 ft) in the northern area of the block and 2,286 m (7,500 ft) in the southern area of the block.

Central Range, shallow horizon block comprising an area of approximately 734 sq km with the shallow horizon exploration rights extending to 1,372 m (4,500 ft).

Central Range, deep horizon block comprising an area of approximately 856 sq km with the deep horizon exploration rights starting at 1,372 m (4,500 ft).

Shallow marine acreage off the north and east coast, Trinidad

Block 2(ab), comprising an area of 1,605 sq km

Block NCMA 2, comprising an area of 1,019 sq km

Block NCMA 3, comprising an area of 1,019 sq km

Pre-bid applications fees are: $150,000 to bid on any or all of the combined onshore/nearshore blocks; $50,000 per block for the shallow marine blocks.
