FLORØ, Norway – Shipyard group STX Europe has completed the sale of its subsidiaries STX Norway Florø and STX Norway Design Florø to Westcon Group.
The order backlog of STX Norway Florø AS was NOK 59 million ($10.7 million) at the end of 3Q 2012, mostly related to one offshore pipelay vessel, theDeep Energy.
The yard performs ship repair and conversion activities. Past clients include Farstad Shipping, Bourbon Offshore, Island Offshore, Havila Shipping, DOF, Remøy Shipping, Hurtigruten, Fjord1, and Olympic Shippingare.
It also has facilities to perform classification, maintenance, and repair work on drilling rigs. Management had also been targeting construction of subsea structures.
STX Norway Design Florø, also based at the yard, is a naval architecture and marine engineering company supplying designs, construction, and drawing packages for newbuilds and conversions.
