Offshore staff
TOKYO – JOGMEC, INPEX, and Marubeni have agreed to the basic principles for joint exploration with Rosneft in the southwestern area offshore Sakhalin Island.
The three Japanese companies are considering using the seismic vesselShigen, owned by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of the Japanese Ministry of Economic, Trade and Industry, for the exploration campaign.
Should hydrocarbons be discovered, the close proximity to Japan should provide a ready market, INPEX added.
