Epcon
The Epcon CFU is a multi-phase (oil/water/gas) separator with no moving parts. It requires no external energy and is reliable and efficient in the separation process to achieve a high standard of treated water. The CFU also has a smaller volume and shorter retention time than traditional flotation units used offshore currently. Several combined processes, including gas flotation and induced centrifugal inertia forces, act on the fluid components of different specific gravities. The technology has been developed and tested in the North Sea, and is now considered proven.

Karmsund Maritime
Karmsund Maritime Offshore Supply has devised a new leak test method for flanges with ring joints. This determines whether tightness has been achieved on all sealing surfaces before the flange and pipe are subjected to internal pressure, as well as monitoring the flange connections for future leakage. The technique involves pressurizing the annular space above and below the seal ring using test gas. If no pressure loss is recorded, the seal is deemed to be tight. The test gas is applied using simple portable equipment, designed to enable flanges to be tested on a one-off basis without having to pressurize entire systems.
